BCA MEETINGS
The Bandera Canyonlands Alliance holds a general membership meeting each year, usually in the Fall. Meetings typically feature updates on current initiatives, committee reports, and guest speakers on landowner education and stewardship topics. Special meetings are scheduled as needed on urgent issues.
2025 BCA Fall Meeting
An awesome crowd attended the Bandera Canyonlands Alliance (BCA) Fall Meeting on Saturday, October 25th at the Love Creek Preserve despite an overnight storm and power outages. Highlights of the meeting included a panel presentation on the CPS Energy/AEP Texas Solstice Transmission line project that would cut through the River Basins in our region. BCA is formally supporting the efforts of the Hill Country Preservation Coalition, advocating for consideration of alternate routes that would do less damage to sensitive Hill Country lands and reduce engineering costs and risks.
Also, representatives of the Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District (BCRAGD) provided an update on the current aquifer conditions, along with background information on their Flood Early Warning System and future upgrades. The local system is considered a model for other counties to follow.
